What's in store for 2016?

The last 12 months have been a very exciting and fruitful time for me. Forging a career as a freelancer in a competitive and rapidly changing industry has not been an easy process but 2015 proved to be the year when it became evident that a lot of the hard work and risk taking was starting to pay off. As I look back over the last year I certainly feel blessed to have worked on some fantastic projects with some incredible people. Here is a quick look at my highlights from 2015:

A last minute job in May had me climbing mountains in the Lake District for flycreative who were producing a video for the Walking with the Wounded charity. Filming beautiful views and promoting a fantastic cause - this job was the perfect example of why I chose to work in this industry.

June saw me take a little trip to the beautiful city of Paris for a 3 day corporate shoot with the United Magic Studios team. We even spoke a little French while we were there.

September saw me take off for the longest and furthest days filming ever, getting cutaways for an insurance company in sunny Gibraltar.

So, what's happening in 2016?

My first collaboration with talented Brighton filmmaker Daniel Harding (otherwise known as 23 1/2 films) will be released this year, a short film project titled 'Toast'. If you haven't checked out Daniel's work I suggest you do so here.

I'll be taking some trips to London to produce video content for financial services company Helm Godfrey.

I'll be blogging about all things video production over at flycreative. Cameras, lighting, you name it; it'll all be there.

I'll also regularly be attending Film Professional Networking in Brighton and Purple networking in Crawley. Why don't you pop down to one and say hello?

And last, but certainly not least, 2016 is the year for a very special film project. 2024. That is all I'm allowed to say for now, but stay tuned!

So now it's time to get our heads into gear and start another prosperous year of work. Here's to 2016 and getting that tax return done..
