Brief: The Business Creative required a videographer to capture and edit a series of scripted staff training videos for TUI. Each video focused on the general preparation of an activity by a TUI rep, capturing activities with real guests on their holidays!

With a fairly open brief in terms of visual style, a combination of tripod, gentle handheld and gimbal camera work was used, with the intention of capturing as much high quality footage as possible. This was then cut down to match the script in editing, aiming for a few minutes each. Great care was taken to capture the footage without disrupting the activities too much, so an element of ‘fly on the wall’ was needed to be unobtrusive.

Occasionally, elements of the script required more detailed focus to help get specific information across to the audience, e.g. teaching how to score points in Sjoelbak (Dutch shuffle board), in which case these sections were staged. However, pieces to camera were also interspersed throughout the series with personal tips from the reps, to help keep it authentic.
